Mr Bone Paints Services

Tabletop Standard
Models will be primed before painting, and to achieve a tabletop standard of quality, generally speaking each model will have a primary basecoat of the main block of colour, a shade of one or more colours applied to add depth, followed by a secondary layer of paint to pick out the finer details. This is the option for customers who want a cost effective way to field a fully painted army in a smaller time frame.

Professional painting standard
Models will be primed before painting, and to achieve a professional standard of quality, models will be painted in a similar fashion to tabletop standard to begin with, an initial basecoat, shades applied, further detail layered on, and then following this, the models will have fine details picked out like the edge highlighting, drybrushing, weathering, battle damage etc.

Hourly rate
I work out my hourly rate based on what I would need to live on from a standard 40 hour working week, in addition to my business expenses like materials, paints, tools etc which means my hourly rate is set at £15 per hour. This can initially seem high but with 20 years of painting experience under my belt, I can work at a relatively quick pace, and if a customer has a large order (a full army for example) I will tend to batch paint groups of models which reduces the time it takes, and therefore the cost to the customer.

Custom orders
This service is really something to discuss with customers on an individual basis, but it can be pretty much anything really. Big scale models that will take a while like titans, baneblades, dragons, terrain etc, convert or kitbashed models, dioramas, or quirky and unique orders. It will still be based on an hourly rate, but may include additional costs for materials, tools , resources, or other unseen expenses.

Assembly and basing
I count assembly and basing as additional extras, largely because a lot of people enjoy building their models themselves and only require painting service from me, but also because sometimes it is a way to keep commission costs down for the customers, and I try my best to be flexible.
